BETTER LIVING CONDITIONS AND ACCESS TO RIGHTS BY IDPs IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES OF BIH

This project is implemented in Prijedor and the Brcko District

Project purpose: Through this project, the USRI in BiH, in cooperation with the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, will contribute to the implementation of Annex 7 of the Dayton Agreement. The goal of the project is decrease poverty through developing life quality of endangered households. This will be achieved through the socioeconomic integration of IDPs and distribution of housing kits which consist of: washing machines, refrigerators, kitchen appliances and wardrobes. All of this is conducted in cooperation with the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees (MHRR) of BiH.

Planned project activities are:

Activity 1 – Cooperation with the MHRR of BiH when conducting the selection of IDPs for residential buildings

Activity 2 – Tender procedure for the procurement of 23 housing kits

Activity 3 – Acquisition and distribution of housing kits to addresses of IDPs (23 selected users)

Activity 4 – Distributing 23 housing kits, signing handover documentation and monitoring

Activity 5 – Holding info sessions for internally displaced persons about accessing socioeconomic rights through local CSOs

Activity 6 – Enabling local CSOs to gather the local community with the goal of achieving support for the socioeconomic integration and rights access of IDPs

Activity 7 – Communication with the public and media

Activity 8 – Organizing the ending event, presenting project results and good practice examples
